Low Cholesterol Diet
As with many other diets, the low cholesterol diet runs off the basics of a few rules. First off, lets look at our current diet. Not how much we exercise, but what foods we actually eat. Do you use a lot of salt or eat processed foods often? Do we get enough fiber? Do we consume many fatty foods?
With a diet that helps lower cholesterol, we are looking to eat healthier. This combined with exercise can lower cholesterol levels.
We must eat more fruits and vegetables. We must eat less meat, cheese, sugars, etc. Instead of deep-frying our food, we could bake or steam it. Instead of using sugar, most things can easily be replaced with sugar substitutes. Instead of sitting in front of the TV for hours at a time, take a walk. Instead of a donut, have whole-wheat toast with sugar free jam or Kashi cereal with low fat yogurt. We can lower our calories, lower our fat intake, lower our salt intake, and become more active. Instead of a meat and cheese filled lasagna, fix vegetarian lasagna. Instead of soda or whole milk, drink water or skim milk.
